Something Pink is hanging

New Addition to the family

I delivered some balloon molly fry to my LFS today and I broke down and got another guppy.  This one is a cute young male, he's some type of yellow albino.  I think he's around the same age as my youngins, so he must be around 2-3 months old.  I can't wait to add him to my community tank.  I just added my 6 guppy fry to the big tank and they are just lovin it.   Comments >>

Feeding Behavior

The new guppy I got at the LFS does not seem to feed like my fry that I've grown myself.  My fry go crazy at fly up to the top of the water awaiting potential flake or fry to be dropped.  My new guy waits at the bottom and once it starts to fall towards the bottom, then he decides to go swim all around the bottom of the tank trying to catch the food, but he never goes to the top.  I don't recall every having a fish that feeds like that.   I guess should be thankful that he's at least eating, let alone still alive from the LFS! Opaque Update

Well, my molly has been quarrantined for 3 days now, and he's acquired a couple more of these clear "bubbles" on top of his head.  I haven't noticed them moving at all, so I don't know if they are really parasitic.  I'm treating him with tetracyclene, since I read online that they could be gas bubbles, which could have been caused by cooler addition of water to the tank. If the "bubbles" pop, it could cause infections which hopefully the antibiotic will prevent. (137 words in story) Full Log Entry

Well, I added my albino yellow male to my community today.  I think 1 certain little female has taken a liking to him.  I think he's finally feeling a little braver, as he now goes to the top to beg just like the rest of him.  I'm so glad my tank is back to "normal". (8 comments) Comments >>

One of my girls that I've raised from birth had her first batch of fry sometime today.  I had to come home from lunch so I was checking on them and of course, neither had done anything then.  I usually feed before I leave for work and then after I get home.  As I was feeding them tonight I noticed some specks that were definitely not food!  Geez, once you blink they're gone!!  And the problem is, I don't know who's been dropping!!  They all look ready.   I wish I had bought a new turkey baster like I had planned...  It definitely would have come in handy tonight! Puffed up scales still a problem

Would you believe that since my last post over a month ago, my molly still has some type of "clear bubbles" on top of his head and 1 on his gill.  I've used 3 antibiotic treatments (1 Tetracyclene and 2 TriSulfa) and he's currently on his 4th.  After this, I give up. I've tried Parasite Clear, because someone suggested that maybe it's a parasite.  I've tried ich remover (another suggestion). (8 comments, 183 words in story) Full Log Entry
