Well, I am happy to report that originally I thought that all 6 fry were females.  Last night one has acquired color (mostly aqua and black) all over his body and I was wondering if this was a male.  Well, this morning he confirmed my suspicions!!  He is so beautiful!  If only he would stay still for a family portrait...  My digital camera doesn't take the picture that fast.  Hopefully I can post him on snapfish soon.  Maybe I'm being partial but he's so cute. I am so upset!  I do gravel changes every other weekend and water changes on the opposite weekends.  I can't keep that darn tank any cleaner.  I even clean out the filter when I do gravel  changes because I've found that it  cloggs up with "junk".  My big daddy balloon molly was acting funny when we got back from vacation on Jan 4th but I left the light on and used a vacation feeder so I thought maybe the stress of the light and an odd food source was the problem.  I left the light off for almost a week and I gravel syphoned the tank and he started acting fine again. Snails in a fry tank

I think I either had a weak molly, although at the time I had only 1 male and 1 other female in the tank with her, or another idea I have is that maybe she spawned abnormal genes to her fry.   (317 words in story) Full Log Entry

Guppy Breeds and Decyphering the Difference

Does anyone know of a good website or even a book that shows specific details of each breed of guppy?  I've been searching the web and I can't really pinpoint what type of guppies I have.  U.S., you sound like you may have a good suggestion for me. Late Bloomer??

So far, all 6 fry are still doing well after over 2 months of worrying.  I must say though, 4 are aqua and/or black, 1 is red and black and 1 has no coloring whatsoever.  Has anyone had any late bloomers like that?  I think it's the runt of the bunch and all are doing well.  I guess I'll have to wait and see.   Comments >>

Both at home and at work today I've noticed that the banner is just showing a little white box with a red X in the middle.  I haven't changed any settings on either computer.  Is there something wrong or is it me? Comments >>

1 puffed up scale

I have a male balloon molly who has what looks like a tiny bubble on top of his head right between the eyes.  I can't tell if it's a scale or an actual bubble.  He doesn't seem affected by it, but I've had dropsy in the past so I'm a little nervous.  The "bubble" is clear and if he's moving you really can't tell unless he's sideways.  Does anyone have any clue what I'm talking about?
