Well hello all!
I'm a relative newbie (nearly 4 months). I grew up with tropical fish in my parents house (oh so long ago) and finally succumbed to the temptation to get another tank. Well, I quickly discovered that there is no such thing as "just one small tank".. at least, not for long. My wife jokingly asks if she needs to grow fins in order to compete with the fish. :)

I'm still not entirely sure whodunnit, but I think there were two or more fish that dropped simultaniously in the main tank this morning.

I forgot to add this to my list of things learned the hard way. I managed to drop a half-full small bottle of rid-ich on the carpet. I guess they call it an industrial dye for a reason.......

Well, I still can't quite believe how much they've grown. They're quite cute, curious as hell, and (so far) utterly fearless. It wasn't really quite apparent how far they've come until having a bunch of day-old's to compare them against. They're eating frozen baby brine shrimp like its going out of fashion.

Well. It has been an interesting few days. Another three batches of fry.. 15-20, 20-25 and 1. The 1 is the problem. I think that fish is going to die!

Argh! Every time I move something in the tank, a fry pops out and darts away.

I spotted snails in the new 55G tank that I've been setting up over the last week, so I decided to try and catch the yoyo loaches and move them over, as I'd previously planned. Oh My. What a drama that was.

I was moving today's fry catch from a temporary container near the main tank to the fry tank. I thought I had the last one inside the net, but it was something else.. I'd just squashed the last one which was hiding under the net instead. Now I feel really bad. :-(

Well, maybe I'm biased but some of the first batch of fry are starting to look really interesting now. And a couple more of the next batch look interesting too. They're all mutts of course, but they do look much more interesting than we expected.

Well.. I did it again. I brought home some live adult brine shrimp to see what my guppies thought of that. Well... FEEDING FRENZY!! barely describes the spectacle.
However.. Two of my recent arrivals both ate so many that they immediately had small "ruptures" like my previous fish.
