hi, i'm totally new here, but not totally new with livebearers. i had them once a couple years ago, mollies, but when my 4 year old cousin came to visit, he wanted to "clean the fishies" and dumped tide bleach in the "fishie box". all of my fish and their fry died.
so i've decided to start over. but i can't decide: mollies or guppies? i'd like to breed, and i've thought through housing and such. i was doing well before the bleach incident. which would be a better breeding....breed??

ok, maybe not finally. it took me 2 tries to find homes for my future baby guppies, due on the 20th of next month. my LFS usually takes them, i have a good one who takes good care of their fish. but they already had alot of guppies ordered for around then. so i asked my life science teacher if we could raise them in the class, and she said yes!

what is your favorite flowering aquarium plant? do these plants actually do well in aquariums? i really want a flowering plant, but i'm unsure of which ones to look into.

i'm so sorry that this doesn't relate to guppies, but i'm afraid i'm desperate.
you see, my preg female molly has developed a white film over her eye, and it doesn't seem swollen. i know it is not pop eye, but i can't figure out what it is. i've looked everywhere.
is this a bacterial thing, or a fungus?
i just started adding antibiotics to the tank for one of my males, he has developed a bacterial skin infection. could these two events be correlated?

i've heard of people slitting open dead pregnant livebearers and saving the fry. how does this work? DOES it work? at what age (into pregnancy) would fry be saveable?

hi, i was really wondering how you all felt about buying fish and having them shipped. its just that i see some really great looking fish for sale online from reputable sources, but i'm afraid to have them shipped to me, in case they die. what do you reccomend? my LFS is really crud when it comes to variety, color, and attractive fish in general.

i have the weirdest fish. she is a black molly that i raised from birth, but she does the weirdest stuff. when she was a 2 week old fry, she used to enjoy going through the bottom slots of the filter hose. you know, the place where stuff gets sucked up. she would go in one side and out the other, over and over and over and over and over again.
