Well, I guess it has been quite a long time since I have posted on Guppylog, though I have been back regularly checking in on everyone. I just havent been able to get quite back to where I would be posting regularly, but enough said, here is an update on my aquaria

First Tank: 60 Gallon tank

I could go on and on about the decorations and etc. in the tank, but I will just keep it simple and explain the basics. I run a side mounted filter/ only media in it is a cotton like filter substance. There is a bubble wall and small airstone located in the rear of the tank, each in its own corner.

The ground is made of a mixture of small river stones and dark blue fake rocks. Over that is 7 different decorations, but all basic nothing really special, There is two types of plants in the tank, but no plant does well in this tank. I blame the too small lighting, while the proper bulb, I don't think it is enough bulbs for the tank.

This tank used to house the fish that are no located in another tank in the house, but I will get into that later in the diary entry. As for now it houses 7 Peppered Corydoras 2 of which were born and raised in the tank, which was quite a surprise, seeing how none of the other eggs or fry survived. This tank also houses 6 African Cichlids. Though they were listed as a certain species in the Pet store, after books and books as well as internet websites about such were discovered that these defiantly were not those that were listed.

2 are Blue with dark blue stripes, 2 are Orange, 1 is Yellow with lighter yellow stripes ,and the other Biggest one looks like a Goldfish in coloring. The pictures are the closest to the fish that I have.

This one would be an accurate description of my two Blue ones. The out of Focus fish in the background is a very close to my largest one, but since It is out of focus I cant say for sure. The owner of the pic lists the two blue's as females. This is the closest I can say Ive gotten to sexing them.

In this picture there is two Yellow fish, the one that best fits my Yellow cichlid would be one on the lower left. With the slightly different branding.

I would go into further details about them and the other Two angel fish that are in the tank. But as this is Guppylog, I would much rather go into detail of my Guppies and there life so far. or atleast since my last diary entry.

Downstairs I have two 20 Gallon tanks. Or to say that I had 20 Gallon tanks, as one cracked last week during a "Cleaning Accident" or at least that's what I'm calling it. So right now, until I can get another one going The single tank is running down stairs holding around 30 Guppies, Both males and females. I was hoping to start my breeding program with the new tank and some separator's and breeding media but that has had to be but on the back burner again.

There is A few different projects that I would like do in that tank. The first are these two beautiful dark blue's and black 3/4th's that look wonderful in the light, another is a Black/ Orange half's that look wicked when they have full tanks.

Other area's of interest in the tank, are some Mosaics, that personally I miss because they were a main attraction of my tank back in the Northwest Territories before I moved. As well as a cobra skin, other then that the tank is mostly Yellow sunrise like coloring.

Over the months I've not seen to much in development of the chains because they shared the large tank upstairs with Neon, Cardinal, Glowlight, Rasbora's Tetra's, 1 Gourami, 2 cory cats and 2 Ghost Catfish. As soon as I can I will pick up another 20 Gallon or two for downstairs, cause I can pick them up for under 20 bucks each, get the guppies separated by sex and then wait till there is a clean couple months without any further guppy births, then I will separate further and start the breeding program.

I'm still kicking my self in the ass though that I couldn't pick up a tank earlier in the week, as I saw a steal, an exact 60 gallon tank and stand as the one I have upstairs with fish and aquaria, 100 bucks.. oh well, just got to keep my eyes out a little bit more :)

Well I suppose that is enough rambling for one day... Perhaps I will add to this Diary later ... for now, keep fishin..
