I can't believe that it took two weeks to get around to saying that! And you have a lot more reason to be busy than I. But family and friends do take priority.
Interesting that you have been busy with everyone else's tank. One gets good at something or at least able and willing to help and the next thing you know, there are little voices from your own fish tank going, "Hey man! Where are you?" ;)
Looked at my to-do list and was pretty pleased by what had been done. The major undone things included some fish organization things, forums like Guppylog, correspondence and a lot with the fishroom.
Sometimes wish there was a time machine so I could go catch a quick nap (a la Thomas Edison) and then - shazam! - pop in to places where some grunt and siphon work needs to be done. :)
And when it comes to kids, that old cliche about how one must spend as much quality time with them as possible because they grow up and change so quickly, is true. Mom's are clearly numero uno in most kids' lives, but, coming off an "authentic manhood" series of seminars, I'm reminded of the vital importance of dad spending "real" meaningful time, as opposed to passive (just around the place) time with them too.
For those who reflect on these things, sometimes looking back is an opportunity to be pleased with what one has been done, sometimes it is to our sorrow. Parenting is much like so many of the really important things in life. We need to try to do our best, be caring and constantly be on our toes, but we will still (politely put) make mistakes. That's true of course in terms of keeping fish too, but what is that when compared to nurturing the souls and minds and personalities of kids? :)
