Health and Medicine

My white lyretail molly has been acting as if she's got some sort of swim bladder disorder, flipping all over and swimming strangely.

I don't know if she has been eating, but other than the fact that she swims funny she looks healthy.  She isn't gasping for air or scraping against rocks or anything like that.  After a quick water change 2 days ago, my water was in just about perfect condition.  The pH was normal, and everything else was zero, except for NitrAtes, which were 10ppm.  I had a goldfish with this problem about a year ago, but I couldn't really help him much, so I don't know what to do to help her.  Does anybody know what this may be, and how I might take care of it?  If you need more info to be able to help, just ask.
Thanks much,
Nika

Sounds like swim bladder disorder (SBD). It can be caused by high levels of nitrate, constipation, no variety in food eaten, defromed spine, overfeeding, or bacteria.
Treatment: fast fish for three days. them feed cooked, de shelled, green peas. It that doesn't work them it may have a rupture or bacterial problem. Or permanent damage due to a defect. If this is true resume feeding , but be careful not to overfeed. Keep in mind that your fish will most likely will be less active with this so it won't require as much food. Keep it's water clean and hope for the best.
 GOOD LUCK!!!:)

And do a partial water change as many days as (none / 0) (#2)

possible (25-30-35-40-45-45-45%). It could also be a sign of old age (24 months or more.) But the partial water changes can't hurt. :)
