I need help finding a way to help her. She's a surviver but I've only got her to hold down 1 piece of corn.

My male mollies got too aggressive with her instead of breeding with the other females and now she has a small red spot on her side and is just sitting in the breeder box just breathing her last breaths is there anything besides peas that will help.
< why is my molly atracted to guppies but ignores mollies? | I NEED HELP ASAP!!!!!!!! >

I'm very sorry that your female mollie died Josh. (none / 0) (#2)

There are all sorts of live, frozen (defrosted and rinsed) and flake foods you could have fed her. The red spot on her side may suggest a bacterial infection, so for the sake of the others in that tank, please increase the number of partial water changes you would do over a month.

You were feeding her corn? I'm impressed that she got one piece down. If it was too big could it have obstructed her digestive system? Soft greens probably go down easier. Even the peas week feed are cooked (without butter and that sort of thing), shelled and crush between one' fingers until it is the right size for whoever it is being fed to. Look at the ingredients on the side of a can of "Guppy Food" if you aren't satisfied with just the guppy food.

That is a creative approach to feeding, but though corn is fed to carp (who are much better equipped with enzymes to digest starch than most fish) it is not a plant which can survive in standing water and not likely to contribute to a part of their diet. Rural Americans in the 1800s who got by largely on a diet of corn and salt port were seriously malnourished. Many of them lived beyond 30.

A number of feeding suggestions should be listed in Immediate Help. You can also Google Guppylog or the net for Mollie Food or Feeding Black Mollies.

Please make these diaries. This was mentioned to you with the first two log submissions, that they were maybe 500-1,000 words too short. When I saw that there was another log submission, I actually thought, "Well it will not be from Josh." You seem like a very descent and well meaning person. It is no fun voting no.

Please say that that wasn't a plastic (none / 0) (#3)

"breeder box." If so, she may have suffocated, especially if breathing became progressively more difficult. Feeding in there just sucks more oxygen out. That is why we keep referring to them as little boxes 'o death.
