My female guppy is on the top of the tank bent sideways.

Ive had her about 4 months.  When I got her I thought she was pregnant.  After about 2 months she got boxy, I did think this was too long for a pregnancy but put her in a breeding box anyway. I took her out the next day as nothing happened and she looked a bit smaller but there was nothing in the tank.  2 weeks later in the morning she had gone slim.  2 weeks after that I found her on the top of the tank bent sideways in half, she flips around occasionally on the top of the tank. That was a week ago. I did a 40% water change but that has not worked. I am new to keeping guppies so any help would be much appreciated. It is a mixed tank and all the other fish seem ok.

It sounds like from the stress she had a miscarige or she had the babies and they got eaten. Never move a female more than about 2 weeks from her due date. If aren't keeping track of that don't move her after she starts getting a boxy look. She also could just be fry bound. Is it her spine? Does it look bent or twisted?  Not enough information. What is your water condition like? How much ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite? What is the temperature in your tank? How big is it(the tank)? What other fish are there that you speak of? Are there any other odd behavior going on with her and her tank mates? Tell us all you can. Also, read through the immediate help section and look under the disease part and see if you can find any simular symtoms of her and the other fish? If they have any.
 GOOD LUCK!!! :)

many thanks, i had to euthanase her. i left her for a week but she did not get any better. i had water checked in a shop and everything was ok. not sure what the levels were. other fish are danios cloud mountain minnows and tetras. temperature is 79/26. checked lots of websites on diseases but does not seem to have any of them. all other fish are healthy and no bullying seems to be going on. the tank is 30 litres and i now have 9 fish in it. sorry i did not get back to you earlier, internet problems.

thing to do with that fish what what you did.

Isn't it funny how the Internet and computers, billed as great enhancements in communication, block it so much. :)

I've been blocked from Guppylog as a whole and from sections of it today. I guess one has to keep trying or try an alternate way of getting to something. :)
