Everything has been going pretty well in my tank. Speckles has gotten fat once more. I'm just tingling with excitement hoping to see new fry!

Well, the bad news is that SunnySide and Nemo (platys) were both diagnosed with dropsy a while back. Both are alive and Nemo has made amazing improvements! SunnySide (by gosh) got worse! She's eating and I'm still treating both of the funny little fish. I got 3 new fish as well (tank is getting crowded!). I've got 2 scissortails and a neon rosy barb (which has long beautiful fins that my other barbs love to hang around with). They have been doing great and make a great edition to my tank. As for my fry, they all are not only getting color but the color I was looking for! Most of them are turning black and white! WooHoo! Yin and Yang guppies! A couple others are turning into beautiful snakeskins. They are so big and fun to watch! I even think I have some platys in there too! They have been bright orange since the first day I found them in the tank (just like my platy!) and they still are! I love the patterns on their tails and they're now getting color on their dorsal fins too! Most of the fry in there are about 2 months old and only 4 have died out of about 30. 3 of them were mollies. I'm feeling so proud of my fish right now! (Or maybe it's that frsh spring air:) Later!

wow, sounds like you are doing a great job... you will have your hands full doing water changes on all those fishies as they grow and they will keep on having babies... do you have an adoption plan for most of them? I am able to take my excess fish to the vet's office where my daughter works, they grow them on and give them away to clients whose kids are interested... works out great for all of us... and their tank is huge, lucky me! If you haven't thought about planning ahead for all the babies growing up, now's the time. congratulations and I wish you continued fun and pride in your tank! methemom

As for adoption I know the nearest Petco to me will take them (I get nothing in return :( ). They then go into their "Adoption" tank. I  think from there they maybe go to the University or schools as science "projects".
I also have a friend with a large outdoor pond (self contained)amd she'll take all my extras.

Good luck with the babies.
Before all else fails....do a 25% water change ;)
