Good day for fish shopping. :D

Yesterday I went to three differant pet stores, in search of some new livebearers. I certainly wasn't dissappointed.

The first shop I stopped in was a small independant shop that pretty much specializes in animals with fur. I got a couple plants, but they really didn't have very many fish to choose from.

So, What could I do but go to store #2? Store #2 is another independant store, with low prices, knowledgeable staff, and a great selection of freshwater fish, especially for people into bottom dwellers and livebearers. (Perfect for my boyfriend and I, with his love of cories, and my obsession with livebearers).

I went in, planning to look around, maybe get a new guppy or two if something stuck out.

That is when I saw him. The most amazing fin-baby on earth. A male guppy with a white body, and red markings, beautiful rounded tail, and a matching female.

A bit further down, there was a green one I liked just as well, so I had to have him too.

When I went to pick out a female for him (I like to keep more females than males, It just makes it easier on everybody involved) The pet store guy threw in 5 for the price of 1. Works for me! He threw them in because he thought they were a bit on the plain side, and they had been there for a while. Two of them were golds, I fail to see how those nice big gold girls could be considered plain, but I certainly wasn't complaining.

The other 3 girls are grey, and tiny. Just barely big enough to not get eaten, and I suspect one might actually be a platy fry that snuck in the net. At that size, with that color, I can't really tell. They are all too big to be eaten, but not much bigger. I think they were born in the store.

I will have to get some pictures later and post them.

I also got a few neons, to go with my lonely little rescued guy, two mollies, and two platies.

One of the mollies is a bright pearly white female. The other is a black and orange male with beautiful fins.

The platies are one ordinary orange one, then one orange with black fins. Those two won me ober with their personalities, they were chasing my finger around the tank while all the others just ignored me.

I think I've rambled on enough for now, I'll be back later, hopefully with pictures.

I have a little male with the white body and red markings and red tail too. Walmart had him. He's a pretty little guy but thinks he's a swordtail. Also he likes to dance for and tries to mate with my silver male molly.
Before all else fails....do a 25% water change ;)
