under the article. Of course you just did. :)
Because of the software here, posting initially is a little more challenging that at some other forums. (Most of the other forums, that I have belonged to, get hacked or crash far more often than Guppylog, however.) Within a post or three you will be firing away. With a little experimenting, you will be scarfing up data by sailing through Immediate Help (for oldies but goodies too). I would also recommend trying out the Google Search but click on the Guppylog circle.
It may sometimes be wise to then go back to the "Web" and see what is there via the search engine of your choice. Some of what we say is nearly science. Some correctly sees the hobby as more of a craft. Other observations are opinion. And there are often a bunch of (good and bad) ways to do many things as an aquarist.
Regular www.goggle.com will be useful if you want to see what a type of guppy or other fish looks like. Go to Google, click on Image Search and type (or if you are as time and typing challenged as me) highlight the phrase, color strain of guppy or species of fish in GL, right click and copy and then, maybe in another browser window, paste that into the space Goggle provides. Their Froggle option may also take you to vendors and products we mention.
It doesn't take long for nervous new GL members to become among the very proficient at finding resources. Often they are the best at finding and sharing interesting new sites. It took some of us a long time to figure out that after we copy and paste URLs into our comments or diaries (or that very rare log) WE THEN (this is where we and certainly I keep forgetting) need to look down below that signature option to the middle box, which starts out offering Plain Text. We should change it to Auto Format. That means that the links pasted or type into a diary are now active and a person can go to that article or image by just clicking on the URL.
Welcome to Guppylog and thank you for looking around and learning enough to make your first post a diary. You are already ahead of 98% of us. ;)
All the best!
