My little Guppy Blueberry Muffin took about 2 months for her to have the first batch of babies. It's now been a little over a month since then and no new babies have appeared yet.
In my tanks in Texas (I now live in PA) I had relative success with adding extra plants in my tanks and letting nature take it's course. Right now the only occupants of my 10 gallon set-up is Blueberry and her 3 children. So I won't be using a breeding net.
If at all possible give the expectant Mom her own small tank. With my Texas set-up I had a 1 gallon that I used to ensure a decent amount of surviving offspring from "special" breedings. Move Mom about a week before dropping and 24 hours after dropping move her back to the community tank. If you do daily 50% water changes a 1 gallon tank makes an ok temporary home for a 25-50 fry batch of babies. After two weeks they can be moved to a larger tank or if you want they can be added to the community tank. Yes a few won't survive but the strongest, fastest, smartest ones will.
Good luck with your babies.
Unc is it possible to somehow retrieve our diaries and comments prior to the "Attack of the computer Goblins"? I still get the "Story can't be found" comment. (Thanks in Advance)
Before all else fails....do a 25% water change ;)
