A few of my fish have been passing away, with no apparent reason.

Ever since I treated my water for cloudiness, a few of my fish have been dying. Even Edward passed away... I'm going to test the water to see if the water quality is poor, but I'm really worried. My fish (especially my gouramis) have been acting quite strange for the past 2 months. They used to crowd up the front of the tank and beg for food every time I came in, but now when I come in they scramble to the back of the tank, hoping I won't see them or something. I tried coming in slower and staying around the tank to let them know that i'm not going to hurt them, but if I move a single muscle, they freak out (usually the gouramis). I figured I scared them too much when I entered the room noisilly or move alot around their tanks, but they're still scared. My gouramis are especially skitsy, and that wasn't the case a few months ago. They alsways start fighting when I come into the room or turn out the lights.
Eventually, I gave up and thought nothing of it, then one of my female guppies died. A week later, another one died. They were both kinda old, so I figured they just died of old age. But then, my balloon molly died, along with my knight goby. There was no way they died of old age! That's when I began to panick an dworry that there was something I wasn't doing right. Then 2 days later (today) I found Edward, dead. And so, I right to you guys to help figure out my mistake, or possible reason this has been happening. I'll comment on the water conditions soon, just need to get my water kit:) |
