Why is my male guppy,Shadow, so aggressive towards my females?

He pokes and pinches them all day long! I don't know why he does this. But he always ends up tiring my females out! They are all pregnant, and I don't think all of this stress is good for them. Please give me an explanation!

My male guppy is doing the exact same thing. It is harrasing the female and she is very pregnant. I don't think the male knows that she wants to be alone and it's just trying to stay with it's own kind, that's all.

Male guppies are only interested in one thing. Making baby fishies. A male guppy will follow a femalee who is close to having babies. This is because a female is only able to get pregnant in the 48 hours after she drops fry. If she doesn't come into contact with a male in that time she becomes pregnant with her store of fertilized eggs from previous matings.

As long as the females have places to hide and can get away from the males they are ok. That's why guppy people recomend at least 2 females for every male. That way while the male is chasing one then the other female can rest.

Before all else fails....do a 25% water change ;)
