I have 3 guppies - 2 female, 1 male, and I recently noticed that the one that isn't pregnant has an arched back that's at an almost 45 degree angle. Is she deformed?
Shes not pregnant either and she has been with a male for almost a month. The male is sterile becasue he got my other guppy pregnant.

How old would the fish be, any idea? Age can be associated with a bent spine. You could also take a look at my video clip of a sick guppy that can be found in the Immediate Help and let us know if it is like that.

Sorry, can you be more specific about the video, or give me a link?

Nope, my guppy has an even more screwed up back. I know this sounds mean, but I dont want here genetics scattering all over my tank to new fry and stuff, Is that wrong?

What do you think? :)

"The male is sterile because he got my other guppy pregnant." Hello?

Was the female with the back problem in with other males? Has she ever dropped? If not, while your concern over having fry from her breed with other guppies is legitimate, it isn't likely a problem.

Besides her questionable fertility, you do have her separated from other female guppies and that is wise. Simply don't save her fry, if she ever has any.

This phenomenon is call Scoliosis. If you go to the Immediate Help area, you will find reasons for it happening in
