I think I mixed 2 um...........animal.....plant........thingies.......um.......... I DONT KNOW WHAT TO CALL IT! I JUST PUT A SNAIL AND A LILY-PAD BULB TOGETHER!

My intro says pretty much all of it. I bought a black snail at petco, came home, ploped the bag in my 10 gallon tank, watched some NFL access, then did research on snail keeping and read that snails somethimes eat plants, and thats real,er,great because I just got some new lily-plant bulbs and 1 just started to sprout a little bit.
Is the snail going to eat the Lily-plant?

i'm no expert on snails (never had one XD), but i bet if you feed it well, whatever, erm...you feed snails, or if you have enough stuff for it to clean (eat), it probably won't bother the lillies. i'm sure if you told the snail experts on here what type of snail you've got, it might help them determine the safety of your lillies.

   good luck!

ps) i know it's a terrible time to say i told you so, but remember to research a species/fish/plant/snail/shrimp BEFORE bringing it home, even if your lfs has a good return policy. sorry, i just knew no one else here would be blunt (mean) enough to point that out...

It's always a possibility even with well fed snails. And by the way they like pleco wafers, lettuce, and apparently the day lilly leaves that I have growing next to my snail pond. Various yard clippings are a nice treat for them if they are outside also.

what, you mean you put the snail with the golds? probably a good move. do you know what the temp in the 55 is? i'm not sure if temp counts with snails, but it makes sense if it does.

Ya, thats what I mean with the Goldfish and snail.
I read that snails can live in any reasonable aquarium temperature, on www.aquariumfish.com

I do almost as much research on that site as I do here, well actuall I do more searching here and more just screwing around on there!
