i got really worried about Elizabeth this morning.

i don't usually go to check on my fish in the morning, but i had some extra time before i had to leave for school, and when i got down there, i thought she was seriously ill. she wouldn't get off the bottom of the aquarium. she would swim, but she went slow and stayed there, at the bottom.

so i gave them a small feeding, and Barnabe ate most of the food. He was doing fine. i was only in the room for about 5 minutes before i needed to go.

i was worried all day. i was sure she was a goner. i tried to assure myself that she had just been drowsy, and hadn't eaten much becuse it was unusual for them to eat in the morning.

i was very happy to find i had been right. i came home to a very peppy Elizabeth, who also ate readily. i had been really worried, seeing as a few days ago she had started shimmying and spitting out food. the next day she was better, though, with the meds i added. i'm still adding the meds. i'm happy she's ok.

I read just recently that you can even teach corals to open up at a certain time of day ready to eat if you feed them at the same time every day. So I guess your fish are used to you letting them sleep in :)
