all of my friend's baby guppies have gone down the toilet. i have Mollies and she has guppies.

she was cleaning her tank with her mom's boyfriend (joe) and he (unknowingly) dumped all of the babies down the drain. he didn't see them and didn't know they were there. there were atleast 15 of the itty bitty ones, one of which was my favorite. he got his colors earlier than anyone else. the last time i saw him, his tiny little tail was already black at one week. i had sort of hoped to buy him from her once i got room. but he and all of his siblings ar gone now. boo hoo!

I once gave a friend 50 rainbowfish eggs which he hatched out and put in a small bowl (really too small for that many fry, by about 20 gallons).

A little later I asked him how the fry faired. After one of those pregnant pauses, he ahemed and noted that one of his thirsty bassets ambled up to the bowl, on a low shelf and drank 'em.

The good news from these disasters is that guppies can replace those fry pretty quickly. ainbowfish can replace those eggs in a day and thefry hatch out a week or two later.

And the impact of the disaster means that the perpetrators will never do that again. :)

All the best!
