I have moves Sassy and Lemon (black tail with yellow strip) into the nursey today.

Also have Sunshine (black tail w/ yellow looks like a sun) that I am keeping a close eye on.

Sassy is not due for another week.  I wanted to move her before she starts dropping that way I can keep her from over stressing at the wrong time.  She is also flexing her tall but her body is not square yet.  So we will see.

Lemon:  I don't know when her due date is because she is one that came with the 29 gallon.  Her body is very square but thats about the only sign that shows she is getting ready.  He vent does not look ready and she is not flexing.  I thought the same as Sassy, move her now and then that way she don't get stressed at the wrong time.

Sunshine has a white string like thing coming from her anal.  I have looked stuff up in the help and I didn't find anything that sounds like what she has.  It is not tube like it is string like.  Looks like she is pooping thread.  So I am going to keep a really close eye on her and see if anything changes.  I will post an update on her.  Just so you all know...  she is in a 10 gal tank, feedings are golfish flakes in the morning and at night before lights out, bloodworms in the after noon, and every now and then egg yolks (buts thats only when I am eatting one and give them a snack).  I clean the tank once a week and I sufin one side of rocks then the other side the next week.  Need to know anything else just let me know. And she is the only fish with this problem (if its a problem, hoping not)

I don't know, that white string worries me.  Does she show any other signs of stress?

http://www.nationalfishpharm.com/fish_diseases/fecal_disorders.html

See if any of those ring a bell?

She may also just be constipated.  As I hear it, the unshelled insides of a cooked pea are considered a good laxative for fish.  I haven't tried giving them to my fish, but I'm going to have to soon.  Try giving them one.. see if it helps at all.  Couldn't hurt.

grins Yeah, er... a pea without the wrapper on. :)

It's kinda like flammable vs. inflammable, I guess.

Or the small jealous dog who is following you around the house, wondering why you aren't paying attention to him! :)

In addition to the feces, it can also cause sorts of sores and holes in the skin. That is often called hole-in-the-head disease and is all too common among cichlids, in less than optimum water.

All the best, in a cautionary sense.
