Anyone need more fish. I have a ton of them. All of my females had fry last week. First my one with a black tail on Wednesday, on Friday morning one of my silver ones was delivering and Friday night just before I went to bed #3 was dropping.

They really do look like they have a box inside. The last one to deliver was the biggest. I think she may be a bi-weekly dropper as there are still alot of fry eyes inside her. The black one who went first was the smallest of the 3 and I didn't know she was close. I thought she had at least another week.

Now I know the dates I'm gonna be ready next time.

I also changed everyone around. My 3 adult males, the cherry barb and 3, 6 week old males (no gravid spots) are in the 1 gallon. Just wondering if I should do a complete change in it every day? It has no filter. They are getting a bigger tank ...I'm hoping within a month. Money is a bit tight right now.

My 3 adult females and the 6 week females are in the 10 gallon along with all the new fry. I think there is approx. 40 or 50 tiny ones. I would love to take the momma's out but I have nowhere to put them and under no circumstances are they going back with the boys. I'm hoping to be fry free in a few months. The 4 neons are in the 10 gallon too.

On Saturday we went into Corpus and stopped by a Petco. They have the most perfect fish tank. 100 gallons. I really want it. But it is $400.00.  Hubby said no :(. But he did say we can get more tanks but he wants prettier fish. He also wants a saltwater tank ;) Now I just need to find a decent place to buy fish. I did look in the phone book and there is an all fish place somewhere in Corpus. Just gotta find it now. Oh and get some money. Oh and some more tanks. I didn't get the test strips as I still don't have enough money. But I haven't had any fish die in 3 weeks. Just a few fry that got sucked up the filter.

I must be doing something right as none of my girls have clamped fins like previous ones I've had.

The egg is done and so I have to go feed the tank with the babies. I'll be back. Thanks to all who have helped me to get my fish this far. I think this week I've had the tank for 8 weeks. I had this all written up and ready to post last night when my little girl hit some buttons and it went away. I don't know where. Maybe outer space.Oh well. Now I really have to go feed the fish and my little girl. She's digging in the fridge again. I'm glad fish aren't as impatient.

You will find that over the next few months there will be less and less fry produced from that sperm store. It took 4 months for mine to stop dropping fry after I segregated them and the last drops were only of about 6-10 fry.

As to the saltwater tank - tell hubby it costs thousands, not hundreds like freshwater and there is an even bigger learning curve. If you stuff it up and fish/coral die then that is a bigger loss too a) because of the cost of them and b) because most come from the wild. Most of the fish I have investigated for my tank need a minimum tank size of 4 feet.

I gues that's why at Petco they had on all the tanks with saltwater fish they had a sign saying "not for beginners". So I guess the saltwater tank is out. But what about pretty freshwater. I just thought of swordtails. Oh when I get bigger tanks maybe a couple angels in the 10 gallon. Hmmmmm... The wheels are turning. Now to convince Hubby ;) ;) To get more fish I need more tanks. Or at least 1 big one. 55 gallon sounds good. Sell all my female guppies. Just keep males. and a couple nice looking girls for breeding. 2 females in a 1 gallon tank. Some male guppies and a few swords, some mollies a platy or 2, maybe a beta ...... Gotta go talk to the money maker.
Before all else fails....do a 25% water change ;)
