ok, maybe not finally. it took me 2 tries to find homes for my future baby guppies, due on the 20th of next month. my LFS usually takes them, i have a good one who takes good care of their fish. but they already had alot of guppies ordered for around then. so i asked my life science teacher if we could raise them in the class, and she said yes!

Perfect opportunity to teach a whole class about cycling a new tank although it's a lot easier in my opinion with fry b/c the good bacteria grow in numbers as the fry grow. Tank maintenance and sexing of fry can also be shown. Maybe some of those fry will go home with your classmates at the end?

i don't think they will. i'm pretty sure my teacher plans to keep them for good...she says livebearers always fascinated her. but yeah, the rest of what you said is probably true. she has a really nice 25 gal in the back of the room.
