I saw the black dot on my yellow female guppy showing that she is pregnant. So I was like damn... what am I supposed to do?! So I browsed around the internet, and was advised to put my guppy into a breeding tank, which I did. I was really looking forward to see cute little baby fry at the bottom. That night, I saw she was looking rather sick, lazy and upset she wouldn't even eat any food. The following day I saw her at the top of the breeding tank dead!!!! :| Do you have any idea why? :S

But you see... what really concerns me is I have got another pregnant female guppy that is ready to go into the breeeding tank but I'm scared to put her in, as she might die like the last one... :(

WHAT SHOULD I DO???? PLEASE I NEED HELP!!!!

Signed, a 14 yr old boy that loves his fishies :)

Some quick tips (none / 0) (#1)

I know your freaking out but how big is your breeding tank. Also a guppy is pregnant for 4-6 weeks. All female guppies should have a black (gravid)spot. It's how to tell males and females apart.
If you haven't already please read the Immediate Help sections on breeding, pregnancy and feeding fry.

Also you can just leave the female in the main tank. Add a few extra plastic or real plants and maybe a rock decoration with small holes/caves and let nature happen. A few fry might get eaten but some should make it. For some info a single female guppy can have up to 200 fry in a single drop. Mine have between 50 and 100 at a time.

Welcome to our Guppy family. for future referance a diary gets responded to faster. Also this may disappear due to having to be "voted" on. Also the more info we know about your tank set-up the better. How big, how many and what types of fish, how long has the tank(s) been set up and have fish in them.
Good luck and hope you have baby fish soon.
Before all else fails....do a 25% water change ;)

How big was your breeding tank? Some (none / 0) (#2)

pretty good breeders get away with one gallon drum bowls with 100% water changes a day from an established tank.

Others are more comfortable with larger tanks in the 5 or 10-gallon range. (As NGM suggested, please click on the Immediate Help Link in the upper left corner for more ideas.)

If your breeding tank was one of those little "Plastic Boxes 'o Death"  it is unfortunately not a surprise that your female died either of suffocation or shock. :(

There is a thread on that in the Breeding section too.

All the best!
