A number of the veteran Guppylog members are out and about. We lost a good one. It might be worth while to mention to newer GL members that a quick couple clicks on the Aquarank and Fish Rank buttons in the upper left-hand corner will vote for Guppylog. If you are pleased with how you have been responded to, pleased with the chance to chip in on discussions or just enjoy being here, vote as often as once a day for GL on those lists (and for any other of the listed sites which you frequent and appreciate).

| It is too much of an ego thing if we were to pound the membership with reminders to vote and really campaign about getting as absolutely high as possible. At the same time, it is nice to see that a site, with a relatively modest list of members, placing as high as it does.
I'm reminded of a basketball game several winters ago, a battle to stay out of last place, between Ohio State University and Northwestern University. When the Northwestern team prevailed, the NU students poured into the streets chanting, "We're number 10!, We're number 10!" (The Big Ten Conference has 11 teams.)
A practical reason for voting for Guppylog is that if the site appears on the front page of those rankings, it is brought to the attention of more potential members. As with the Big Time Net search engines, people respond most often to first or second page listings.
So, a vote now and then, or even daily after skimming GL, is a nice way to say thanks to everyone else for participating in GL.
And, thank you! :)
