The betta

My observations.

My betta does extremely well as a community fish as long as I don't put anything blue in the tank. He went after my blue male guppy and the blue plastic plant and the little blue specks on the treasure chest. He's a blue betta so I'm guessing that may have something to do with his aversion to the color. Other than that he is doing very well and enjoys tormenting my cats by swimming up to the glass and making them run into it. If fish could laugh I know he does.

Which is why you're a better fish owner than I am. If I had a fish like that, I'd put a bit of said blue plastic plant on some sort of a stick and tease the fish every now and then...

I wonder what he's like with red items and fish since red is another common colour of bettas?

Who says fish don't have character, eh!

I had a red male guppy in there and a red swordtail and lots of stuff with red coloring in there and he doesn't seem to mind any of it. I think he may just not want anyone or anything competing for the beauty of his blue lol.

hehe... I wonder if fish just have a dislike of blue... I had two beautiful blue guppies (much like the one in the guppylog logo...) and they became endlessly aggressive towards one another. The remaining blue still does not get along with the other fish... they pick at him a lot, even though he's FAR larger.

I've also have guppies that were terrified of a blue plant I used to have...
