Please click the Immediate Help link at the top right and read. You will find much information there that will assist you in breeding and caring for your guppies.

Once you have a basic knowledge of fish keeping, post back with any questions you have.

I really would not suggest putting any pregnant fish into one of those boxes.  The odd one does cope well with them, but really, it's terrible for the fish, and some will get so upset that they kill themselves in their fight to be free.  Even if they are calm, it's not a great place for them to be.

Leave your girl out in the main tank.  If you have a guppy, she's not going to lay eggs... she'll give birth to live fish... tiny little baby guppies!  Just make sure you have plants for the babies to hide in... a plant called java moss works really well for that.. and that you feed your fish well, and they should leave the babies alone.  Really, it's the best way if you can't afford to have a tank for the babies.

If you don't have a guppy, I can't help ya.. livebearers are my thing.

What kind of fish are we talking about? If it's a guppy, they are livebearers and don't lay eggs.

Hey,

apparently the mother could die from shock if put in a small container like a breeding box...or so i have ben told.

guppys dont lay eggs and once the male and female have sexed that is it as i sais they dont lay eggs they give birth to actual fish....fry!

Good luck. you are probly better of with a proffessional comment as i am only a beginer but have done alot of research...or near alot of research hehe.

please look through the 2nd through 5th or 6th sections of Immediate Help. Also in Breeding Livebearers "Walkthrough" is a bibliography of great guppy and livebearer books you could borrow from your library, perhaps through interlibrary loan.

See:  http://www.guppylog.com/story/2005/6/10/122959/978

Neither of those projects will cost you a lot except for time. I think it will be a great investment, :)

All the best!
