I have a couple questions about my guppies and one of my balloon mollies that I am hoping some one can help me with.

I got my first four guppies a couple of months ago and one of them is pregnant. I researched on the Internet about how to know when your guppy is going to release her fry and my guppy shows many of them; her gravid spot is practically black, she isn't eating when she is fed, and her stomach is pretty big. So last night I put her into this little 1/2 gallon cube that I have with a desk lamp over it. Am I doing anything wrong? And am I too early? I also have a question about my black balloon molly I got about a month ago. I think that she is pregnant because her stomach is a lot larger than my other balloon molly. I cannot see a gravid spot because she is so dark, but I do know for sure that she is female because of the fan shaped tail. Do you have any tips for me?

Are you trying to save the fry? If you are it is best and you probably will save more by just leaving her in the tank because they have more room to and places to hide. In a half gallon cube she could get to cold and the fry wont have anywhere to hide and they wont stand a chance, dont move her at all even in a breeding net because it is to stressful and it may stunt her pregnancy or even kill her.

Hope this helps, Josh

pregnant? You should never be moving a pregnant guppy or any livebearer to late in her pregnancy!I really hope that her fry are ok:) Well hope this helps:)

P.S. 1/2 gallon aquarium is to small for fish and her fry:)
