Well, another two of my fry went missing.  Now I'm left with 3, two females and possibly a male.

I had this experience with my japan blue/double-swords.  All my males and all but one female died.  I had rescued three fry during the big death, then the last adult female had a solo batch of fry.  15.. 10.. 8.. 6... 4.. and finally they were all gone and the original three from the previous drop were all that was left..  The original three turned out to be a 1 male, 2 female trio.  Whew!
