I have a 29 gal. tank that has six male guppies and two african dwarf frogs, I believe that's what they're known as, and because I was not told to let my tank cycle before adding fish, my Ammonia and Nitrite levels spiked after a week.

| Everything else was fine, other than those two, and the temperature has been staying at 79-80 degrees. And because I had gotten off to a bad start my fish's lives had already been affected, future wise, I didn't return my fish but instead tried to do what I could: I have been doing about 75% water changes every day, adding buffer and stress coat, and have been feeding my fish every other day, once a day. Fortunately this has helped and my NItrite levels has gone down from 2, to .50! And my Ammonia is back to zero. I'm still going to continue doing these water changes until the Nitrite stays at a constant zero. Hopefully this has not stressed my fish more than I have hoped. Any comments are welcome. Thanks! |
