I looked over to discover "something" coming out of a male guppy and 2 other males frantically trying to grab it.
Grabbed the magnifying glass - "Stay still fishy". All I could see was darkish threads and some clear ones at weird angles and what looked like a wing!
2 minutes later and it popped out, floated on the surface and I lost sight of it but it looked like some sort of insect. My hubby arrived home and I was telling him about it, looked in the tank and there it was stuck on the filter - a small wasp!!
This fish must have swallowed it whole and it's passed right through with no digestion occurring.
With all the talk here about camllanus (and other problems) and with the original fish having been purchased from a pet shop, I can't help but wonder what my fish have hidden until something goes wrong.
I don't believe it - while writing this, the same fish is eating a small moth that was tucked up behind the heater. Well at least when that comes out I will know in advance what it is :)
