Guppies like mates?

I put 3 young male gupps in the new tank 2 days ago and they moped around

They didn't look ill but seemed to sit at the surface and not do much. Compared to their 29 previous tank mates who are constantly zipping around, busy, busy, busy.

So today I added another 3 young males to make 6 and they haven't stopped since. They are way happier, busier and eating better. In size I'd probably have the equivalent of 2-3 adults in the new tank which I hope is OK with no means of testing the water quality yet - nail biting!

So I have learnt that young guppies like to be in groups of more than 3 and they like to "play" :)
