Just wanted to say hello to everyone here.  I'll be dropping in every once in a while.  Though I don't know too much about guppies, I am capable of helping Mr. Lockwood keep this site running smoothly.

My true pet calling is guinea pigs, those lovable three pound balls of fluff that wheek and cuddle into your heart.  Stay tuned to this diary for a story about 'em every once in a while.

G'day BAH -

I'm very new to Guppylog but the people here are fantastic.

We had 2 guinea pigs years ago - boy can they eat, guppies are cheaper :)

Also have 4 dogs, 3 cats, 1 brahman bull (who plays with the dogs), 1 sheep, Australian native parrots (lost count), 285 goats (my income) and ever increasing number of rabbits (oohps, I mean guppies).

Anyway, welcome!

Yeah, they eat a lot, but we just had one neutered and got sick.  That's when the real fun begins.  He's feeling better now and will meet his ladies in a couple of weeks.

So you neuter him THEN give him ladies :-)

Poor little guy - I bet he hates you!

I have a buck (male goat) who's had a vasectomy and he's allowed to live with the girls full time - ain't life grand he says to me. His name is Viagra :-)

Neuter first, then the ladies? (none / 1) (#10)
by BAH on Tue Apr 20, 2004 at 10:13:36 AM PST

Exactly.  Guinea pigs suffer from overpopulation in a similar fashion to dogs and cats.  I am firmly against breeding of guinea pigs.

After he gets his ladies, he'll soon forget about his trials and settle down happily.  ;+)

Oh wow - they're gorgeous!! I love Mr. Snuggles.

I'm a firm believer that ALL pets should be neutered/speyed and the only animals here that can breed are the ones we have for our income and I'm working on the guppies :)

How do you take care of the Bull's horns?

Also, I'm assuming the Bull is not an indoor pet?

Nelson, that's the bull, still has his horns but I burn the goats horns out when they are a week old - not a nice job :(

If Nelson had any say in it, he'd be an indoor pet. I've had him since he was 24 hours old (his Mum died). He's now 4 - I can just picture him getting his drinks out of the fish tanks!

Hey I just thought of another bonus for guppies - no toilet training needed :) (You can imagine where my mind was heading when I was talking about a bull in a house and ended up at toilet training)

BAH - are you now wondering what sort of people get into Scott's site?
