Well, within the last week I have treated for camallanus. I have now discovered an outbreak of finrot or something similar (only on male guppies for some reason). This morning I discovered a case of dropsy, and to top it off, I have discovered one of my fry tanks is infested with ich.

I think that's almost every disease I have ever come across in one week. I have never had ich before, but I know who the culprit is.... a new bristlenose catfish I bought a week ago. I was running out of room, so I put him in my fry tank a bit sooner than I normally would. That will teach me.

This afternoon I went out and bought a small 5 gal hospital tank, bringing the total up to 7. Will it ever stop?

I have not had good experience with the meds (none / 0) (#2)

for dropsy.  I've tried all sorts of meds.  I do know about fin rot though.  I've used Melafix in the past and it's helped.  I can definitely relate.  It's soooo frustrating when you're cleaning the tanks on a regular basis, doing your necessary water changes, and yet, you keep getting hit with stuff you're definitely not prepared for.  I'm getting over Camallanus myself.  Luckily I had a quarrantine tank setup so as soon as I found out that's what a new gup had (after having her for a month) I immediately moved her and treated both tanks.  Now every morning it starts with feeding the fish, and then with my face up against the tank I'm checking out every fish to see if there are any signs.  I might just treat again to be on the safe side.

Good luck and I feel for you...
Maggie

What can I say? That is terrible and I bet you don't like that first look in the tanks in the mornings either?

Well good luck with it all and keep trying - you'll win eventually!
