No comments visible on pages Visited my Mum last weekend and of course while there had to check out Guppylog on her Win98SE pc and using Internet Explorer (version 6.0 I suspect). [editor's note, by Scott Lockwood] I moved this around a bit, and decided it should be posted.

I could view the Front Page OK but when I clicked to view the Whole Story the page came up with only the story and none of the comments from others.

I'm assuming something needs to be installed or a change made to an option to view the page correctly? Can anyone tell me what that might be?

Did you log in from there? The only thing that wouldn't be visable from there if you were not logged in should be the voting queue, and the poll. How fast is her link? (I.E. Is she on dial-up, or is she on a decient connection of some sort?) Did you try clearing the cache? If you stoped it from loading a page, and the browser was set to refresh "Only when the page is updated" then you'd never get the rest of the page. Go to Tools, and to Internet Options to play with those settings. Also, if possible, use any browser besides IE. IE is the worst, craptastic POS on the planet. I use Mozilla, available at The Mozilla Website and I MUCH prefer it to IE. Tabbed browsing, it's faster, and it's actually standards complient. :-)

Uh duh - I don't think I logged in. Sorry to have bothered you with it. I'm not certain about it but knowing me as I do, wellll....

I use Opera myself at home for browsing (can't stand IE either) and Mozilla for Mail and News. I forget that I am already logged in to guppylog when I visit here.

Oh well, you'll just have to accept that you've allowed a dumb blonde into your site ;-)

so flummoxed about passwords last fall that I switched a couple I had with different sites and on the side asked Scott Lockwood why the wrong password wouldn't work. There were some hahahahahahahahas before he could answer, even in e-mail.

Maybe you could sign messages Herb Axelrod, Jacques Cousteau or Scott Lockwood. ;)
