Does anyone know of a good website or even a book that shows specific details of each breed of guppy?  I've been searching the web and I can't really pinpoint what type of guppies I have.  U.S., you sound like you may have a good suggestion for me.

(sorry for the title spelling)

There are several websites that will list them.  Google delta guppies, veiltail guppies, swordtail guppies, roundtail guppies, etc.  There are many I haven't mentioned regarding coloring.  The reason for this is, as U.S. said, many breeders will call the same strain of guppies something else.  For instance peacock guppies are called a few different things.  (Marketing purposes and whatnot)  I've heard of green cobra guppies being called king cobra guppies, while the same breeder may attach a different name to the same strain he sells to each different area... It can be confusing.  Even purple dragons have several names.  The IFGA has some pix from several different shows at their site(s).  Keep in mind too that your fry will probably get more color or it may appear to change as they get older.

different countries have different tastes. Guppy associations even have different judging standards! Also (sort of like discus sellers) people will attach flamboyant names for marketing purposes, ;)

I have been especially impressed with the guppy books by Shubal and Iwasaki. Go to your library and do a computer search on the topic "guppies". Some books will be in your library. Other books from other libraries you should be able to order right there. (Once again, your tax dollars at work.)

Thanks for the info!!  I've never seen this type of coloring before on my fry so I'm curious to see if I can decipher (there's that word again) what type they are.

Thanks again!
