is my guppy pregnant? her gravid spot(I think its called that) is very black! and she looks like shes going to burst! I'm positive she'll have them in the next couple of days, but i just got her a week ago from petsmart so i don't no whos the father. she was in a tank with delta red males and sunrise males. She is a delta red(at least thats what the petstore woman told me). I've tried to breed guppies before, but the female would like suck up her babies(i'm not sure if this is true i just heard of it happening). well please help i'm very excited. wish me luck! :)

P.S. i bought a male delta red too. should i seperate them?

No fry yet, but I can see the frys eyes.(Ithink!) She seems to take to the surface or midsection of the tank and chases the male away is he edges closer(hehe)!

Chances are , the sunrise males have probably impregnanted her, as well. Since their tails are smaller than the deltas they are more mobile in the chasing. So keep that in mind.  You never know what you're going to get in the first few batches.

You don't need to separate the male if (none / 0) (#1)

both guppies are well fed. The fry would be best served by some shelter - plants, our low light special where soap-less plastic scouring pads are unraveled. ;)

Welcome to GL. Please take advantage of the search engine looking for "pregnant" or "fry" or plants or fry food. You should get a lot of material there.

If there are any glitches, go to www.google.com and search for "Guppylog" and your term(s) of choice.
