My female guppy who I believe to be pregnant, has hust released something like a yellowish color and shaped like an egg, What is it? My scissortail fish ate it before it even reached the ground.

I put her in the breeding trap, but I don't know what to do!  It is my first time, she was hiding behind things and freaking out.  I know the breeding trap is not safe according to the other messages but thats all I have.  I was planning on getting a second tank tonight.  I don't want her to die and I don't know if the trap is okay or should I let her go!  I don't think the babies would survive in my tank because there is not many things for them to hide in.  Help me Please!
