Hi Josh,

Can you afford a timer switch. I've got one only to share between 3 tanks and it looks like we might be going away for 2 days (Yeehaa).

I'm going to use the timer so the lights go off at about 7am and come back on at 7pm because it's been forcast to get very hot on one of the days we might be away.

The timer was about $AUS20 (maybe about $15 US)I think and it's got little clips you stick in to choose when you want it on and off. It can do multiple on and offs in a 24 hour period as well.

Cheers

As for the lights, do you have any plants? Is so, what are they? Are they high light or low light plants which could do ok without the lights? Do they get any incidental light in the room?

Your answers will profoundly influence what anyone can offer as advice.

Thanks and all the best!
