If I'm not mistaken, my LFS is selling endlers as feeders.

I was looking around in my LFS and happened to take a peek at the various feeder fish they happen to stock.  To my suprise there appears to be a tank full of Endler's for 10 cents a piece.  Is there another fish I could possibly be mistaking for endlers?  I kept endlers many years ago and these guys are a mirror image it would seem.  I think I may have to swing back by there in the next day or so and pick up a few dollars worth just to check it out for myself.  I certainly wouldnt mind starting up a breeding line of endlers to compliment the guppies.  Any comments or suggestions or helpful info??

Wild Guppies I'd bet. I have two different strains of Endler if you want some.

Took a trip to the LFS today to collect some of the possible endlers.  At 10 cents each getting a few isnt exactly a huge expense.  On closer inspection in the multi-purpose tank they unfortunately seem to be endler/guppy crosses.  I've decided to use them as betta snacks much like the culls from my guppy lines.

As to getting some actual endlers I may take you up on the offer at some point in the future when I have the extra tanks needed for breeding(theres no way in heck I'm letting them loose into the guppy tanks).  As for now I'll just keep working on my current yellow guppy project.  I'm getting some rather spectacular looking males with solid yellow bodies and green, blue, or white tails! Same pattern in the females.

mind (such as it is) wonders if they are guppy/Endler's crosses which are unfortunately cooomercially useful as feeders. (I too have dumped the prodgeny of an unfortunate mix in a dealer's feeder tank.)

Probably you could Google search a lot more than I have but take a look at:

note the cross with neon guppies on the last frame

Take up Scott Lockwood's offer. Or if you are passing through the Southern Chicagoland suburbs, stop off here. Express mail is probably cheaper from SL's .  ;)

All the best!
