This Weekend's Tip: Toothbrushes

If, in the course of the weekend, you are about to throw out a toothbrush, stop a moment. If it is clean or easily rinsed out, consider keeping it (maybe in a jar or plastic shoebox dedicated to stowing fishy gear). When some algae grows in a corner, you have an algae scrubber.

Another handy little brush... (none / 0) (#2)

...is an unused or *well cleaned* mascara brush.  I used to have lots of clean (never been used) brushes because I was involved with direct sales of cosmetics (think PINK!) and have used those mascara brushes to get into the smallest, most awkward spots on tanks toys, filter units and even tubing.

Just a thought!

 brushes! I like the idea of getting at the filter impeller and mechanical things which need to be clean. Guess there are several ways to give aquarium dirt the brush off!
