The American Fisheries Society has cut prices on a large selection of fish books - now only $15 each. "There's some pretty good stuff in there..." my informant suggests. Click here to see [editor's note, by Scott Lockwood] I made that a clickable link for you.

For example, the Feeding Ecology of Fishes is worth a number of times the price according to another informant. I do wish their list described some of the works more thoroughly. Probably reviews are around if one searched the Net and AFS site.

I did submit an order for a couple of books, without looking for reviews. Something of an act of faith, something of a calcuation based on topic. ;)

If you are still young enough to have an Uncle Ralph who plunks a few fins in a Christmas card, that list might be worth a look.

A lot of the offerings will be of no interest to anyone in this forum what-so-ever. And they are academic, clearly not the stuff of most freshman book reports.

But one never knows when a gem, holding knowledge or an experience we deem necessary, will jump out at them. ;)
