she was apparently the only one out of all of the babies to have the plumetail when her dad was a nice full red mickey mouse plumetail.

and one part regular. Also, had the female been with other males back at the shop? Maybe there was another gene involved in the tails. One out of 10? 30? when the gene is dominant is hard to otherwise explain.

I dont know but i found the regular female and the plumetail male in the plumetail tank with only plumetails, but who knows, maybe.

What we don't know is who was she with (at the wholesaler's or fish farm) when she last dropped and would be most easily impregnated. Still the math probabilities are puzzling on this one.

In my modest experience plume tails show their extended tail rays pretty young. Was that your experience with that one? Are there some young siblings of that fish you could still keep an eye on?
