Sun spots? :) (none / 0) (#3)
by unclescott on Fri Oct 10, 2008 at 08:07:40 PM PST

The submission to the log queue was there. I toodled out a response and went to the log queue to paste it into a reply. There was a message there about a 36 hour(evaluation?) procedure. Then the original post was gone and was found later on the front page. I don't think that anyone had voted upon it before it was moved.

(Plays Twilight Zone theme....)

Maybe it would be best if you would arrange to just route any log submissions to the diaries.

By the bye, is the sign-in period here timing out faster than it used to do? Or am I just getting slower? ;)

Thanks and all the best!

It was voted on twice. It had been in the queue for more than 36 hours. The system didn't auto-post it like it was supposed to for some reason, so I posted it.

I have not adjusted the time outs. :-)  I still suggest either notepad or wordpad for composing replies.

The Sun has been ultra quiet for the past 3 months. Very strange!
Otherwise, Software never remains exactly the same when moved over WANs over and over. I hate to have to try to find the bit or byte that has changed. Often it has to be reloaded from start.
I wish you Scott the very best!

Spell checking. (none / 0) (#6)

I can show you how to spell check from within the browser, if you use firefox. If you don't use firefox, I can help you install all the necessary parts. :-)

yep, its there. The CKA site used to (none / 1) (#9)
by unclescott on Sun Oct 12, 2008 at 06:44:37 AM PST

gave a down-loadable list of fish names (common and scientific). One could just plug that into their spell check. That needs to be renewed.

Wonder if any other site has such lists?

Also wonder how camianna's fry are doing. :)

hi,
to update you on my fry...i did a 50% water change of the tank 2 days ago and cleaned the few rocks in the tank. So the tank is now clear again and i can actually see them, and to my suprise there are 9 of them....not 8 like i had originally thought. They are all doing well and are very active :) The mom is also doing well. Thanks for all the tips.
