Thanks unclescott. I was afraid you (your answers are almost never wrong) would comment and say that I just waisted 12 dollars on a piece of phony bamboo:) The tag said it "should" survive underwater but I definately needed an answer from guppylog because I can't trust many stores anymore. I planted the dracaena in the middle of the tank (after cutting back my mystery plant) and the stalks are just about sticking out of the water. I did cut some of it down so that the fish had some surface space though. So far, my knight goby absolutely loves it, he sits on the top leaf that's just below the water and waits for food to appear. My other fish seem to enjoy it too (I just love the way the goby sits on it) and the plant's leaves are still a bright, bright green. Thanks again for the reassurance, I think the dracaena will be just fine personnally.

I know, it is a mystery to you. ;)

Is it rooted? Does it grow out of the water? If it does grow out of the water, are the emerged (as opposed to submerged) leaves different in shape? Would these leaves be bright green and a bit wide? Where did you purchase or collect it? :)

Or is it a floating plant?

Love comments like "should survive under water." Gotta smile at the mental image of your knight goby perched in a branch. :)
