It's nice to be remembered.
But Unc is right. A male Dwarf Gourami is a great way to keep the fry population in check.
Unfortunately I no longer have a fry problem.
My Fishies all went to new homes at the end of May.
I moved from Texas to Pa. Now I only have 1 10 gallon set up (broke the other 10 gallon's filter and Hubby chipped the corner of my 75 gallon when moving and haven't fixed either yet) with 4 little guppies (probably gambusia's as the males have no color and the fins on all seem a bit wrong for a guppy) snagged from my Mom's tank.

If you're anywhere near Reading PA I'll take a few fishies. Oh and a simple open 10 gallon tank (no hood, filter or anything) is about $10 at Walmart. Just an idea.

Or see if you can put up a sign for free fish somewhere. I found new owners for my fish that way. Luckily I knew the manager in my old Walmart fish department and he let me put my sign up there.

Good luck with all your extra gups.
Before all else fails....do a 25% water change ;)

Welcome Back New Guppy Momma! This is (none / 0) (#5)

old home day!

You live within a couple hour's drive of a lot of terrific general, guppy and killifish clubs where you are now. Google those names and PA, NJ, MA, and NY. (There is of course also a list of lists on GL. Several of those links in the IH list should still work.)

As the fall rolls around many of those groups will have shows and or auctions. They also have monthly meetings and mini-auctions which offer some fine fish very reasonably. One does not have to be a dues paying member to participate. They will welcome your company and, uh, money. ;)

I'm sure that there are ways in which you are still moving in. (We still are after a couple of decades.) If your children are old enough, school of course or preschool, is starting up. There may be lots of things more important that guppies to concern you at the moment or for the next zillion years. But remember that falls and springs are great times to prowl around looking for wonderful fish. There are also some great shops out that way or so I'm told.

I just sent off an e-mail to a gentleman, making inquiries into whether a certain fish was available from him. Of course, I have no idea what I'd pay him with at the moment. ;)

All the best!
