Amen to the new pets (none / 0) (#2)
by New Guppy Momma on Mon Oct 01, 2007 at 07:03:19 PM PST

And unexpected expenses Unc. Our puppy (4 month old "mutt", terrier/collie (a Tellie;) and my Siamese kitty just recently both had to be to the vet for icky tapeworms. YUCK.

Anyway to the original poster I feel your frustrations with the Immediate help and google guppy log. Are you by any chance using the Firefox browser? I am and was just wondering if there might have been an update to the system that doesn't mesh with "older" browser's. My Internet Explorer 6 gives me troubles too tho.

As for your tail/fin rot treatments.... older meds might have lost their ability to work well. Jungle Labs Fungus Clear (available from their website or almost any pet/fish shop in North America) has worked for me in the past. Doing more frequent water changes helps too. Way back in the spring (before I moved from Texas to Pennsylvania) Unc said something about water changes and how if we aren't changing about 50% of the water weekly then we are going to run into problems. I think he was quoting someone else. I tried it and it honestly helped. My one male guppy (Mr Bubbles if anyone remembers) had an almost completely missing tail, actually grew it back by me doing nothing but twice weekly 25% water changes. It took about 2 months. That was on my 75 gallon tank. Now I only have one 10 gallon set-up and the rest are in my shed awaiting that glorious day when we finish renovations (new floor in living room) and can set up my Beast.

Good luck with your little fishies :)
Before all else fails....do a 25% water change ;)

I've tried using firefox and the new explorer, they both have the same problem.
