Ok, that's cool - just write exactly what you think should be added, and tell us where you think it should go.

Right under the  heading when you open the post a log link should be the following...
If you are new please post a diary (add the link to post diary here). They get read sooner and you will recieve your answer quicker.
Just my suggestion. Also maybe it can be in big bold letters or a bright color.
ALso maybe the post a log can be re-named to something us frequent users see at a glance but new people may not notice and the diary link be made big and bold.

Can you copy and paste the above that Scott did with all the html code and put your bit in exactly where you think it should go. Doesn't matter if you dont' have the html code, we just want to see where you mean for it to go and then have others comment on that idea.

Thank you for taking the time to submit a log entry!

{For those who are new to the site please post a diary entry as it will be answered sooner and may have been posted before. Repeat questions posted in log form tend to get voted down. (Put a link to diary entry here)} (have new lines in bright colors)
Here are some general guidelines for new stories (if you choose to ignore them your question may not be answered):

  • Pick the topic carefully! Try your best to match the topic with the story you're submitting.
  • Consider if what you are about to write would be better suited as a Diary entry. One liners or short questions should be diary entries. Questions that are already answered in the Immediate Help section should be diary entries. Foe example, asking how long until your guppy gives birth, if she's pregnant or how to stop her eating her fry should all be asked as Diaries.
  • Please try your best with your spelling and grammar. Questions asked with a lack of capitals or punctuation are likely to get voted out. If you have trouble, say so and someone might offer to fix it for you.
  • Only the html tags listed are allowed in story text. No HTML is allowed in "title" or "dept." fields.
  • You must preview at least once. Please read over your story carefully.
  • Check all URLS!
  • Check all facts! :-)
  • Write a brief intro that will appear on the main page eg. front page or section page. Don't repeat the intro in the Extended copy section, just tell us what you want here.
  • This site is community-edited (mostly), so don't complain to the admins if your story doesn't get posted. If you're logged in, you'll see a "Moderate Submissions" link to the right. This is how you decide what gets posted here! Use it!

Now post away!

Also if we changed the title of post a log to Articles on Fish Keeping. It may make Newbies think twice. I had my Hubby look at the site and he thought that Post a log entry sounded like what we here term our diary entries. Kind of like a daily log.
Again just my thoughts.
