I once gave a friend 50 rainbowfish eggs which he hatched out and put in a small bowl (really too small for that many fry, by about 20 gallons).

A little later I asked him how the fry faired. After one of those pregnant pauses, he ahemed and noted that one of his thirsty bassets ambled up to the bowl, on a low shelf and drank 'em.

The good news from these disasters is that guppies can replace those fry pretty quickly. ainbowfish can replace those eggs in a day and thefry hatch out a week or two later.

And the impact of the disaster means that the perpetrators will never do that again. :)
