Are you doing 25-40% partial weekly water (none / 0) (#1)

changes? If the water seasoned? Has it been properly conditioned? Is your tank cycled? Chances are your guppy is responding to uncomfortable water. (Check ammonia, nitrite and nitrate tests.) Has the pH drifted too much in an acid or alkaline direction? (With increased water changes, you probably don't need to test for this...) These are the same questions I ask myself when the behavior of fish changes in a disconcerting way.

Is he your only guppy? He could be lonely or bored. See also the observation on this sort of behavior in the little review of Stan Shubel's new guppy book if he is not your only guppy.

Of course, there is always the chance that he is healthy, but just nuts. ;)
