Rule of thumb is an inch of fish per gallon but it really depends on the amount of filtration you have and how often you change the water.

upon with guppies, refers to the fish when they are grown up.

It is still just a rule of thumb. 10 inches/25cm of guppy masses just a small fraction of 10 inches of goldfish or oscar.
